  1. AMERSHAM SCHOOLREWARDS SYSTEM2010 Your opportunity to shine and be rewarded

  2. What we think about Rewards. • Rewards must up hold a framework of Respect and Fairness. • Rewards must have meaning. • They must underpin our school ethos, what we stand for. • They need to be accessible to all. • Rewards should be used by all staff, in every lesson • Rewards contribute hugely to moral, motivation, self esteem and progress. • Rewards are something that we build into every aspect of our teaching and your learning.

  3. The Two Strands of Rewards. • Achievement Award. This will replace the Green Slips, as such they can be given by any member of staff to any student at any time. The criteria for the Achievement Award is below. • Achiever of the Lesson. One student will be awarded this every lesson for achieving one or more of the following. • Academic Excellence • Excellent Effort • Sustained effort • Excellent Homework • Positive Role Model • Circle Enterprise Skills • Supporting Others • Positive Attitude In sporting terms this is your “Man of the Match”

  4. Staff input • This is what your staff believe you should be rewarded for: • Exceeding expectations • Remaining on task • Completion of tasks • Sustained efforts • Positive contribution to lesson, including class discussion • Applying/demonstrating further subject knowledge • Working together • High levels of both effort and behaviour • Best progress • Leadership skills

  5. Rewards Tariffs

  6. Student council input. • The Student Council believed the student body would be motivated by rewards vouchers such as: • Topshop • Topman • Boots • Body Shop • ITunes • Sports Direct • Amazon • Cinema I will also be asking the School Council to look into the possibility of getting some level of sponsorship from a local company eg Tesco or The Entertainer. So as we develop this rewards system we could over a different type of motivation and rewards.

  7. How to make the Rewards tangible • When a student reaches an Achievement Level they will automatically be entered into the Rewards Raffle. • The Rewards raffles will be held at the end of each and every half term. • Each year group will have an individual Rewards Raffle, run by the DoL’s in their year group assemblies. • If a student reaches two or more Achievement Levels over a half term period they will be given two or more tickets. • Achievement Level One= One raffle ticket. • Achievement Level Two = Two raffle tickets. • This means that ONE student from every year group will receive this extra reward per half term, as well as the certificates etc they will ordinarily receive. • The Rewards Raffle prize will be a £10 voucher of the students choice from the selection listed by the Student Council.

  8. All done on SIMS.(OUR STUDENT DATA BASE) • All Achievement Awards will be collated on SIMS. • Green Slips will no longer be given out, instead all Achievement Awards will be given on-line. • Advantages. • Quicker, in fact it’s instant. • Easier to collate. • Easier to manage. • Easier to track who is getting rewards, who is giving rewards. • You will be able to monitor how many awards you have been awarded. • You will receive your rewards/certificates quicker.
