Perspectives That Define the Educational Technology There are four perspectives that define Educational Technology • Media and Audiovisual Communications: -It is another way of delivering information other than books, or teacher instruction. -Early forms of Media were slides, overheads, filmstrips, opaque projectors. 2. Instructional Systems and Design -The systems approach to solving educational problems came from military and industrial training -The system was based on the belief that teachers and media could be parts of a system for addressing instructional need.
3- Vocational Training -It sees technology as a tool used in business and industry called technology education -Preparing students for the world of work -All content can be tought 4- Computer Systems -Computer technology was predicted to be the most important components of educational technology

No technology is a panacea for education • Teacher usually do not develop new technologies or curriculum • Technically possible does not mean desirable, feasible or inevitable • Technologies change faster than teachers can keep up • Older technologies can be useful • Teachers will always be more important than technology
