  2. When, Where, And Why? The Santa Buenaventura mission is the 9th mission. The Santa Buenaventura was founded in March 31,1782. The Santa Buenaventura was built in California. The Santa Buenaventura was the last one Junipero Serra built.

  3. Disasters • The first san Buenaventura was destroyed by a fire. • The second construction was abandoned because of “the door give away” • The earthquake also destroyed the San Buenaventura in 1872.

  4. About The Church • The whole church was a catholic church. • The Santa Buenaventura had beautiful stained glass windows of Marry and Jesus. • They had a lot of livestock in the church such as sheep, cows and chickens. The church was the first thing built . The church was the first thing built for every mission .

  5. The Beauty of the Mission The church is one of the most blessed places in the mission. It’s has a mass every day you know when it is because it here is a huge bell that rings every hour . The bell sits next to the main church. They have some funerals The church has a cemetery with important people. The mission had about 50 bells in the whole entire mission.

  6. Mission bells The bells would ring for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The bells would ring to call people to the church for a mass. It would ring at sunrise everyday. The bells would ring so people would now the time. The bells were the watches for people because watches did not exist so they used bells. The bells would ring for the morning mass, the afternoon mass and the night mass. There was a lot of bells all around the mission. The mission and the church used the bells every single day to summon the people.

  7. Interesting Facts • The date the mission was founded, was East Sunday march 31 1782. The mission san Buenaventura mission was 70 miles from north los Angeles. The San Buenaventura took exactly 33 years and one day to built the san Buenaventura mission. Stone, wood, adobe, and tiles were tools the mission builders used to built the mission.
