History of the Mission • 1998 : • André & Josiane Fillion started a church plant in Châteaudun. With the help of a Christian couple, they started meetings in their home, and subsequently in a hotel. They started the “Evangelical Mission of the Loir Valley” (not to be confused with the Loire Valley!)..
2000 : • After 3 fruitless years, André & Josiane realized they were outside of God's will and needed help instead of working alone. No-one was coming to the meetings anymore, and, as they were about to give up, they contacted the 'Good News' evangelical church in Chartres, followed by the directors of France-Mission (Gilbert Presle and David Rowley).
They started work again from scratch in partnership with France-Mission, setting up ahome group. The mission statutes were changed, along with its name: “ProtestantEvangelical Mission of the Loir and Perche”.
First evangelistic activities: • Street evangelism and a concert with Michel Champoyseau and a band from Elim church in Yvetot (Normandy). • 2001 : • Florence, the first contact to be baptized.
2002 : • France-Mission outreach in Eure-et-Loir. • The Gospel music concert was attended by approx. 200 people. A Bible exhibition and conference on the history of Protestantism in the Beauce region also took place.. • 2 couples coming into the area for work joined the group.
