  3. Spring of living water Jesus answered ‘whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.’ (John 4:14)

  4. Living water ‘Whoever believes in me, as the scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him’ (John 7:38)

  7. Man made cisterns Jeremiah 2:13 ‘ My people have committed two sins: they have forsaken me, the spring of living water and have dug their own cistern, broken cisterns that cannot hold water’

A Comparison between Wells and Cisterns Wells/Springs Cisterns Small reservoirs dug in the ground to collect and store rain water Polluted by debris and filth collecting in them Controlled by man Religion and tradition Used as prisons and death traps e.g. Joseph and Jeremiah • Fresh, flowing (living water) • Supplied from underground • Controlled by God • We have to dig deep to provide a steady life-sustaining flow

  9. Principles of Un-blocking Wells • Probing-spiritual mapping-research into the history of the area for Godly and un-godly influences. Interviewing key informants e.g. hairdressers - to find out current issues eg. Rahab and the spies. (Joshua 2) 2. Prayer and fasting- humbling, dependence on God, - waiting on the Lord for guidance and clarity of direction. 3. Purging-breaking of un-Godly oaths and covenants e.g. Masonic oaths. Repentance- stand in the gap, identify with the people, weep/cry out for mercy (Ezekiel 22:30-31) 4. Promise Keeping-holding God to His covenant promises e.g. blood covenant of the cross and the Godly inheritance of our spiritual forefathers. e.g. Abraham, Wesley Contend for your inheritance!

  10. 5. Proclamation –Speak out in faith the promises of God and His covenants from scripture 6. Prophetic Action-e.g. put salt in the water to heal it. e.g. Elisha at the spring in Jericho (2 Kings 2:19-22) He threw wood (the cross) into the bitter water at Marah to make it sweet. (Exodus 15:25) - put crosses on the boundaries to nullify Masonic marks. - claim the ground by burying scripture promises in the ground. 7. Passion- for God and for the lost. Seek His face and His glory. 8. Praise and Worship –is a powerful key in breaking the spiritual darkness. It opens springs in the desert. (Numbers 21:17b ‘Spring up O well; sing about it.’ ) 9. Push through demonic resistance. Don’t give up! e.g. David’s mighty men getting the water from the well at Bethlehem. (2 Samuel 23:16-17)

  11. Prayer for Healing the Land ‘If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land.’  (2 Chronicles 7:14)

The Lord did not hesitate to bring this disaster upon us, for the Lord our God is righteous in everything He does; yet we have not obeyed Him… Now, our God, hear the prayers and petitions of your servant. For your sake, O Lord, look with favour on your desolate sanctuary… we do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of Your great mercy. O Lord, listen! O Lord, forgive!
