A few data on LORC • LORC wasestablished in October 2009 • The ambition is to contribute to a new industrialadventurewithin offshore wind turbines • The boardconsists of representatives from the biggestenergycompanies, a university etc. • The chairman is former Prime Minister Poul Nyrup Rasmussen. • The LORC Council– a consultativebody has amongothersrepresentatives f rom the trade unions and localauthorities • LORC has receivedappreceived 5 million Euro in public funding
Background for the creation of LORC • The closure of the shipyardLindø and the loss of thousands of jobs • 2,500 weredirectlyemployed at Lindø – Lindøwillclosecompletely as a shipyardnextyear • Dilemma for the Danish trade unions: hold on to jobs withno future – orthinkingaheadwithsome negative consequenseshere and now??
