Projects - Basics • Define the project FIRST • What is scope, size, cost, savings, when, where, how.. • Needs to be technically and financially feasible with a viable operational plan • Willing investor/owner/operator • Most of the funds from owner • Investor/owner willing to assume risks, gain the rewards

Conservation and Renewables • Significant resources available for both • Renewables are often more visible and obviously “green” – but have longer paybacks • Conservation is largely “invisible” thus not noticed and not funded extensively until recently. • Different strategies for different customers e.g. residential, commercial or industrial - business vs. government vs. institutional
