  2. Harlem Renaissance Originally it was called the negro movement, it was all about African Americans finding out who they really are in side of them and they did this by using art, music, litatureect.

  3. Arnabomtemps • Born in Alexandria L.A Oct 13, 1902 • He went to collage in the west cost at pacific union collage • Arna Bontemps move to Harlem new york to achieve opportunity in getting his poems out in the world • He was famous because at the time he wrote about things he saw and things that he could relate to in his life and life was also hard for African Americans at this time period

  4. Length of the moon Then the golden hour Will tick its last And the flame will go down in the flower. A briefer length of moon Will mark the sea-line and the yellow dune. Then we may think of this, yet There will be something forgotten And something we should forget. It will be like all things we know: . A stone will fail; a rose is sure to go. It will be quiet then and we may stay Long at the picket gate But there will be less to say.

  5. Length of the moon • Main idea: things hard but over time things will get better • Device: 1.) imagery the flame will go down in the flower. • The reason this is imagery is because it makes a visual in your head when you read that line

  6. Device 2.) symbolism A stone will fall a rose is sure to grow • This is symbolism because its saying someone will dies but at the same time someone will be born

  7. The tone • The poems tone is more of a sad type or melancholy • When I read the poem it kind of made me think about issues I had in the past and how I got through those issues
