LAV construction & installation status Matthew Moulson for the LAV Working Group NA62 Photon-Veto Working Group Meeting CERN, 01 April 2014
LAV installation: Activity at CERN • A1-A8 status: • HV & signal cable supports for A6-A7-A8 installed • Measurements taken for HV & signal cable supports for A9-A10-A11 • HV recabled A1-A3, with reflected cables • HV cabled for A4-A8 • Signal cables for A1-A11 with correct impedance ready • A1-A8 fully tested, about 10 bad channels • Almost certainly loose pins on connectors on vacuum side of flanges • A1-A8 installation work: 7-18 April • 2 physicists + 2 technicians • Installation of FEE boards & signal cabling • Repair and test of problematic channels • A10-A11 installation: • 15-24 May, if missing sections of blue tube finished on time • Delays due to availablity of Stycast resin for interior coating
A12 construction status: Fantini • Welds between sectors complete: rings ready for milling machine • Some problems with milling machine → small delays • Predicted delivery still 15 April – in time for A12 completion by 1 Aug
A12 construction status: Frascati 263 blocks reinforced – 121 processed in oven before rewrapping
Refinements to wrapping technique Attempt to speed up and simplfy wrapping procedure and minimize use of PVC tape Use of cleaning stand to check for light leaks
