Please answer the questions in no more than two A4 pages • What are the challenges did Welch face during he was the CEO in GE in the two decades? • What were Welch’s objectives in the series of initiatives he launched in the 1980s and 1990s? What was he trying to achieve in the round of changes he put in motion in that period? • What had Welch done on HR and cultural changes to lead GE specifically? Why did these changes be effective in GE? • How does such a large, complex diversified conglomerate like GE defy the critics and continue to grow so profitably? Had Welch’s various initiates added value? If so, how?
