Eligibility Requirements • Have a minimum cumulative GPA or HPA of 3.00 or higher. • Provide official College Ready Scores on the ACT, SAT, CPT, or PERT • SAT: Reading – 440, Math – 440 • ACT: English – 17, Reading – 18, Math – 19 • CPT: Reading Comp. – 83, Sentence Skills – 83, Elementary Algebra – 72 • PERT: Reading – 104-150, Writing – 99-150, Math – 113-122 • Receive a grade of “C” or better on all college coursework. • Must have completed an Advisement Session at PBSC
Are You Ready?????? FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE STEPS TO BEGIN YOUR JOURNEY!!!!!
STEP #1 First time Dual Enrollment Students: • Complete PBSC “Admissions Application” ONLINE at www.palmbeachstate.edu • click on the Panther Web box on left hand side of page, then • click on APPLY in boxes on left hand side of the page and complete online • have “Admissions Application” completed byApril 15 for Summer and May 15 for Fall
STEP #2 2.) Once you have your registered, you will receive an email with your Panther Web Student ID and Pin. Once application is submitted you must immediately register for anAdvisement Session from your Panther Web account. Failure to register in a timely manner may result in you not being permitted to register for your desired dual enrollment course as these sessions fill up quickly.(Complete no later than April 17 for summer or July 25 for fall)
Palm Beach State College Advisement Session Sign in to your Panther Web account Click on information on the menu bar. Select Dual Enrollment Advising sessions. Sign up for an advising session BEFORE April 17.
STEP #3 If you have already done a Dual Enrollment class before, this is where you will begin the process!!!!! Search on Panther Web for open classes and complete the sample Triplicate Permission Form with Course ID # and reference number.
STEP #4 See your counselor by April 15 for summer, May 15 for fall with the sample triplicate permission form for their approval.
STEP #5 Take the Triplicate Permission Form, A14 & A20 screens that were completed by your counselor to the PBSC registration office for processing. This needs to be done 48 hoursPRIOR to April 17 or 48 hours prior to July 25.
STEP #6 • Once the above steps are completed, on April 17, 2013, the first day of registration, you may go online to secure your class and print your schedule. For fall registration, go online on July 25, 2013 to secure your class.
STEP #7 • Take the printed schedule to the Guidance office to obtain your “Book Voucher”.
STEP #8 • Take completed Book Voucher to Booksmart to obtain you book. Bring the pink receipt given back to you by Booksmart to the guidance office.
If NO registration is completed online or advisement session is scheduled prior to April 17 for summer and July 25 for fall. NO classes can be selected when it is time to register for a class online.
Important Information • Your grade from PBSC will be sent directly to Park Vista at the end of the college semester. It will be entered into your academic record but will not be shown on your School District of Palm Beach County report card. • You must earn a “C” or higher in the present dual enrollment course to be eligible for future dual enrollment courses.
Important Test Score Information If you do not have an SAT, ACT, CPT, PERT score, obtain a free PERT voucher from the Admissions Office at Palm Beach State College by letting them know that you are a dual enrollment student. You will then present this voucher and a valid photo ID to the Testing Center at Palm Beach State College where you will take the PERT. The Testing Center’s hours are Mondays and Thursdays 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Tuesdays and Wednesdays 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Fridays 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. You can call 561-868-3012 for an appointment if you choose. Allow approximately two hours for the testing.
If you decide to withdraw from a dual enrollment class, you must do so during the drop/add period. You will not be withdrawn after the final date provided by the college. Summer-June 25 Fall- August 19 In order to receive the dual enrollment credits as college level credits, you are reminded that upon high school graduation you must request PBSC to forward your official PBSC transcript to the college or university into which you enroll.
Keep in mind that the academic calendar for Park Vista may not match that of the college. The fact that Park Vista is not in session does not guarantee that college classes will be cancelled as well.
PBSC REGISTRATION TIMELINE FOR DUAL ENROLLMENT STUDENTS Forms Due to PVCHS Counselor by April 15th (Spring) May 15th (Fall) Summer 2013 Registration begins April 17 Fall 2013 Registration begins July 25 For fall dual enrollment classes at Park Vista, students must be registered for classes by August 16 as our classes start August 19. The earlier you register, the better your chances will be of getting into the course and time of your choice!!!!
