An Unfeigned Life… Looks Outward vs. 1-4 • “Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners” (1Tim 1:15) • The unfeigned life is aligned with God’s will in regards to sinful man
An Unfeigned Life… Looks Outward vs. 1-4 • “entreaties” – prayers aimed toward a specific need (Lk 1:13; Heb 5:7) • “petitions” – “…to fall in with a person; to draw near so as to converse familiarly…approach to God in free familiar pryer” (M.R. Vincent)
An Unfeigned Life… Looks Outward vs. 1-4 • “Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners” (1Tim 1:15) • The unfeigned life is aligned with God’s will in regards to sinful man • This life is committed to God’s purpose regardless of circumstance (Jer 29:7)
An Unfeigned Life… Is the Response to a Sincere Offer vs. 5-6 • This sincerity is seen in the depth of the sacrifice required for this offer • This offer comes with “collateral”
An Unfeigned Life… Is the Response to a Sincere Offer vs. 5-6 • He paid for our redemption, the price of our freedom • He serves even now as our mediator • This indicates a continuation of the incarnation
An Unfeigned Life… Responds in Godliness vs. 8-15 • True conviction has an undeniable transformative power • Faith in the promise of God leads to godly behavior
