Teenage Pregnancy: Intro Canada had a 27.9 teen birth and abortion rate per 1000 women within the ages of 15 to 19 years old. Teenagers are not emotionally, mentally, or financially stable to independently support their own child.
Teenage Pregnancy: Emotionally Many of them wouldn’t know how to face the fear, fluctuating emotions, pressure and stress due to the lack of experiences and preparedness From the lack of direction of keeping the baby or having an abortion causes the teenager to have fluctuating emotions Teenagers would be feeling stress and pressure, since their boyfriend may pressure them into having an abortion since they wouldn’t have to deal with the baby
Teenage Pregnancy: Mentally They would need to face some changes in their life that they would have to pay more attention to. Keeping a distance from smoking, drinking or using drug substances. By intaking alcohol substances, it can harm a developing fetus and bring birth defects or mental problems when the baby is born Smoking causes a huge risk towards the baby from the strong chemicals found inside the cigarette.
Teenage Pregnancy: Mentally Drug uses such as cocaine or marijuana can significantly affect the baby since it can cause a miscarriage, prematurity and other problems. Most of their time would be spent sleeping since they need to have lots of rest for the baby to be healthy. Teenagers spent a lot of their time trying to impress people with their body image, but pregnancy will destroy it, which results to abortion
Teenage Pregnancy: Financially Ending up in poverty and on welfare without the support of their family since they aren’t able to get a good education, which leads to a successful job The teenage mother may find a job to support the baby, but the salary would be around minimum wage, from the lack of education and may barely have a high school diploma. The cost of raising a baby to age 18 is between $125,000-$250,000 and that's not including tuition! In your baby's first year alone, you can easily spend between $9,000 and $11,000 (for diapers, formula, baby furniture, clothing, baby gear, etc.)
Teenage Pregnancy: Conclusion Teen pregnancy causes a teenager to lose their childhood life, but in the future they would become more productive adults and hopefully mature faster than everyone else. Teenagers shouldn’t have a baby at such a young age, they should wait a few more years when they are more educated and more successful to be more mature to have a baby.
