When FANBOYS join two equal things, you don’t use a comma: Mary andRudy went to the theater in Monterey yesterday. Two subjects (words)= no commas
“For” is similar in meaningto “because.” It’s usedmore in British English than American. It’s a bit formal, and we use it more in writing than in speaking.
“Nor” is a little tricky. It means “not” + “or.” Since we can’t use a double negative ( “no” + “not” or“not” + “not”) in English, we have to change the sentence structure a little bit to use “nor.”

Subordinating conjunction • The subordinating conjunctionshows the relationship betweenthe two clauses, so it doesn’t matter which one comes first! I get nervous when I see a dog. When I see a dog, I get nervous.
There is one little difference. When the subordinating clause comes first, you must use a comma. You don’t use a comma when the subordinating clause is second.
