Under the Lacey Act, it is illegal to import, export, sell, acquire, or purchase fish, wildlife or plants that are: • taken in violation of U.S. or Indian law, or involving any fish, wildlife, or… • plants taken possessed or sold in violation of State or foreign law. Function of the Lacey Act Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, United States Department of Agriculture (APHIS) is responsible for the Lacey Act.
