  2. 4 Types Of Hazardous Waste • Ignitability Hazardous Wastes- It is a flammable (It can catch on fire) type of waste and catches on fire at 140 Degrees Fahrenheit (60 Degrees Celsius) • Toxic Hazardous Wastes- Poisonous Wastes can damage the health of many living organisms. • Explosive Hazardous Wastes- Wastes that can explode when they are dropped or when they meet air or water. • Corrosive Hazardous Wastes- Wastes that can eat or dissolve through some kinds of materials. • Radioactive Hazardous Wastes- Wastes that have very unstable atoms (They can give you SUPERPOWERS “wink” “wink”)

  3. Effects From Short Exposures To Hazardous Wastes • Effects that you can get from short exposure include: Internal Bleeding, Difficulty Breathing, You can enter a coma, You can get paralyzed which can lead to paralysis, But of course you can die. (Unless you have SUPERPOWERS)

  4. Effects From Long Exposures To Hazardous Wastes • Effects that you can get from long exposure include: You can get all kinds of cancers, Damage to mostly any of your body organs, And of course you can die. (Unless you have SUPERPOWERS)

  5. Disposal • There are many types of disposal for Hazardous Wastes that include: Dumping into landfills, Incinerating the wastes, or Detoxifying Biologically (Organic Only)

  6. Disposal Site Problems • Many problems are involved with the area to dispose wastes like where to locate the sites, They are usually small and scattered everywhere, When they are small and scattered they are farther apart and there is a greater risk at getting into accidents.

  7. Reducing Wastes • One way to reduce wastes IS TO STOP MAKING THEM BECAUSE ITS MENTAL TO MAKE STUFF THAT WOULD HARM THE ENVIRONMENT EXCEPT CARS BECAUSE WE NEED THEM!!!!!!!!… or we could use substitutes.

  8. Examples of Hazardous Wastes • Examples of Hazardous Wastes include: Chlorine, PCBs, mercury, Nitroglycerin, Sodium Hydroxide, Hydrochloric Acid, Kerosene, Uranium, Plutonium
