Room Classifications • Why? • Too many different spaces/equipment • Develop a standard • Continuation of efforts • Assist with budgeting • What are the benefits? • Easy to stock equipment/supplies • Allows for familiarity of systems/equipment • Helps with future planning/budgeting • Provides a standard for projects
Type A • Basic Classroom Design • Instructor’s computer • Document camera • Basic technology control device with network accessibility • Video switching/scaling device with analog and digital inputs and digital outputs • Widescreen display device • Connectivity for external HDMI sources

Upgrade Frequency • OIT Upgrades • Over 105 rooms included • Goal is to maintain equipment on a 5 year replacement cycle • Pending budget availability • Large Scale/Building Project Upgrades • Try to budget a 6 year replacement cycle • Try to get maintenance agreement • BRN, TDC, Estate, LSC Phase I & 2 and new Rehab Building

How did we get to Panopto? • Nursing & Counseling Departments were in drastic need of a solution • Had to get away from dated technology • DVD/VHS • Manual Switching • Reliable solution • Secure solution • Easy solution to use
Product Investigation • Mediasite by Sonic Foundry • Implemented in Spring of 2012 in LSC • Two fixed solutions (LSC 334 & 433) • Several bumps along the way • Setbacks for future expansion • Appliance Based (Fixed location) • Very Expensive (>$18,000 per implementation)
