Banner – Blackboard Integration • More tightly connect Blackboard with Banner • Enable automatic course-shell creation • Significantly reduces manual processes • Enables grades to move more easily from Bb to Banner • Direct push, or • Download spreadsheet, manipulate, upload • Multiple parts to the project, including…

Single Student ID • Blackboard-Banner integration required use of a single student identity • MY UTSA ID (abc123) is now the primary credential for log-on, replacing the Banner ID • Communications tsunami • OIT as well as Admissions, Enrollment Services, Registrar, etc. • Some students still confused • Technical glitches – worked through.

New Learning Management System • Blackboard CE8 is “end of life” in January 2013 • Faculty Task Force • ~40 members • Provide feedback • Experience and review potential replacement systems • Decision factors • Faculty, staff, student feedback • Technical and financial • Conversion and training

  6. Hybrid Courses • Summer Hybrid Academy • 70 attendees to date • Courses being offered every semester • Continuous growth • Classroom Scheduling • Working with Registrar’s Office to develop & deploy guidance. • Guidelines and forms on Registrar’s website

  7. Faculty Instructional Tech Lab FIT Lab to open in Spring ’12 Hands-on technology Access to Instructional Design/Developer teams Classroom, hybrid, online modes

Board of Regents/UT System • Institute for Transformative Learning • $50M over two years • “…competitive grants, matching awards, and awards for leading innovators, as well as through public/private ventures” • MYEDU.com • System-wide agreement • “…provide enhanced access to online data including academic course, grade history, and degree information”
