T he climate • The climate is 87 to 23. in the summer it is very hot and in the winter it is very cold.
Soil • The soil is sand . Some sand is very eartating to dogs cats and people and other animals with fur. some times the sand can get so hot the it is enposibl to stand on it !
The American Alligator • The American Alligator lives in the swamps and marsh region of Ga. And the southeastern part of the U.S. • There are two kinds of alligators. The American Alligator and the Chinese Alligator which lives in China.
How deep is the ocean? • The ocean is not as deep as the coastal plains. The bottom slants like a tide pool . The ocean floor is called the Continental shelf.
People That Lived Here • Do you know who lived here? Well it was the Creek Indians and their Chief Tomochichi. Mary Musgrove and Tomochichi helped James Oglethope start Savannah. It was the first city in Georgia.
Changes in a habitat • A oil spill is one of the things that can happen. The other thing that can happen is tornados ,earthquakes, and floods! The oil gets on the animals and makes them stick to the ground. A tornados can sweep up a animals home.
What Rivers are there? • There are 6 rivers in the Costal Plain. They are the Flint ,Savannah, St.Mary, Oconee, Ocmulgee, and Altanaha.
The Plants That Live There • Did you know that they have insect eating plants? The Pitcher Plant grows in swamps. They hold water in their leaves. Then, when it catches a bug, the leaves digest them. Another one is a palm tree.
Endangered plants and Animals • One endanger animals is the Gray Fox it lives near the Okefeonkee swamp. And the other one that is endangered is the wild boar. A hairy rattleweed is an endangered plant .It can get as tall as 20- 32 ihr.
What are the kinds minerals there? • The kinds of minerals are sand , quartz, sand stone, striatons kaolin hematite and bauxite. Some sand is very eratating to the animals.
About The Region • The Okefenokee Swamp is scary. When you step on it shakes! • The habitat changes with just one oil spill! • The green plants are water lilies and cattails. • The land is made up of sand and water. • An estuary is a place where fresh water from a river meets salt water from the ocean.
Pure White Deer • The white deer has predators. Their predators are Mountain Lions and Wolves. • They eat apple buds and other fruits. • You can find them in your front or back yard if you live in the Lower Coastal Plains.
wild horses • The wild horses live on cumberlandiland. • They eat sea oats and grass. The wild horses are rare . People cach them and sell them. • The leader is mostly a mare.
