Ph.D. in Computer Science Qualifications • a Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering with GPA at least 3.25, or • a Masters’ degree in Science or Engineering having GPA no less than 3.25, and • Other qualifications promulgated every year by the Graduate School or approved by Faculty of Science Committees.
Degree Requirements • Applicants holding a Bachelor's degree are required to take at least 24 credit hours of course work and 48 credit hours of dissertation.The studentsmust graduate within 8 years counting from the first year of their admission. • Applicants holding a Masters' degree are required to take 48 credit hours of dissertation.The studentsmust graduate within 5 years counting from the first year of their admission. • In addition, the students in both background classificationsmust also meet the general requirements of the graduate school. Among the important ones are the Ph.D. qualifying examination, the dissertation prospectus defense, and at least oneinternational journal paperaccepted for publication.
