Definitions: Library • "a repository for the storage, retrieval and dissemination of information, materials, and various media. Traditional brick and mortar and virtual in nature. I see the future library as more interactive and in many areas, becoming more of a cross between a library and a museum with hands on activities and learning especially for children.“ -- Kent Barnard
Definition: Librarian • A librarian is an individual one goes to in order to recieve information. "I have this major research project, I am going to consult a librarian." (n.) – Nick Kane
Definitions: “Library” • A library is an information institution which consists of collections of information sources (ranging from printed material, non-print media, and electronic information sources such as the world wide web), information services (such as search, retrieval, and delivery systems), and information service providers (library professional staff), and whose mission is to meet the information seeking and problem resolution needs of every individual in its user community, equally, regardless of race, beliefs, or economic status. -- Jeffrey
