WHO IS THE LORD SPEAKING TO? WHY LOOK TO ABRAHAM? HOW WILL THE LORD COMFORT ZION?

  5. QUESTIONS: ISAIAH 51:1-3 1 "Listen to Me, you who follow after righteousness, You who seek the LORD: Look to the rock from which you were hewn, And to the hole of the pit from which you were dug. WHO IS THE LORD SPEAKING TO? READ: PSALMS 94:14-15 14 For the LORD will not cast off His people, Nor will He forsake His inheritance. 15 But judgment will return to righteousness, And all the upright in heart will follow it. NKJV READ: PROVERBS 15:9 9 The way of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, But He loves him who follows righteousness.

  6. READ: DEUTERONOMY 7:12-16 12 "Then it shall come to pass, because you listen to these judgments, and keep and do them, that the LORD your God will keep with you the covenant and the mercy which He swore to your fathers. 13 And He will love you and bless you and multiply you; He will also bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your land, your grain and your new wine and your oil, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flock, in the land of which He swore to your fathers to give you.

  7. QUESTIONS: ISAIAH 51:1-3 WHO IS THE LORD SPEAKING TO? READ: DEUTERONOMY 7:12-16 14 You shall be blessed above all peoples; there shall not be a male or female barren among you or among your livestock. 15 And the LORD will take away from you all sickness, and will afflict you with none of the terrible diseases of Egypt which you have known, but will lay them on all those who hate you. 16 Also you shall destroy all the peoples whom the LORD your God delivers over to you; your eye shall have no pity on them; nor shall you serve their gods, for that will be a snare to you. NKJV

  8. READ: DEUTERONOMY 16:18-20 18 "You shall appoint judges and officers in all your gates, which the LORD your God gives you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with just judgment. 19 You shall not pervert justice; you shall not show partiality, nor take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous. 20 You shall follow what is altogether just, that you may live and inherit the land which the LORD your God is giving you. NKJV

  9. READ: ISAIAH 48:1 1 "Hear this, O house of Jacob, Who are called by the name of Israel, And have come forth from the wellsprings of Judah; Who swear by the name of the LORD, And make mention of the God of Israel, But not in truth or in righteousness; NKJV

  10. QUESTIONS: ISAIAH 51:1-3 2 Look to Abraham your father, And to Sarah who bore you; For I called him alone, And blessed him and increased him." WHO IS THE LORD SPEAKING TO? WHY LOOK TO ABRAHAM? READ: GENESIS 12:1-3 1 Now the LORD had said to Abram: "Get out of your country, From your family And from your father's house, To a land that I will show you. 2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." NKJV

  11. QUESTIONS: ISAIAH 51:1-3 2 Look to Abraham your father, And to Sarah who bore you; For I called him alone, And blessed him and increased him." WHO IS THE LORD SPEAKING TO? WHY LOOK TO ABRAHAM? READ: MATTHEW 3:7-9 7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, "Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, 9 and do not think to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. NKJV

  12. QUESTIONS: ISAIAH 51:1-3 2 Look to Abraham your father, And to Sarah who bore you; For I called him alone, And blessed him and increased him." WHO IS THE LORD SPEAKING TO? WHY LOOK TO ABRAHAM? READ: ROMANS 4:1-3 ABRAHAM JUSTIFIED BY FAITH 1 What then shall we say that Abraham our father has found according to the flesh? 2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3 For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.“ NKJV

READ: ROMANS 10:1-3 ISRAEL NEEDS THE GOSPEL 1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. 2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. NKJV

  14. QUESTIONS: ISAIAH 51:1-3 2 Look to Abraham your father, And to Sarah who bore you; For I called him alone, And blessed him and increased him." WHY LOOK TO ABRAHAM? READ: ROMANS 9:30-33 PRESENT CONDITION OF ISRAEL 30 What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness of faith; 31 but Israel, pursuing the law of righteousness, has not attained to the law of righteousness. 32 Why? Because they did not seek it by faith, but as it were, by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling stone. 33 As it is written: "Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense, And whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame." NKJV
