Jean Jean- -Francois Hibbert Francois Hibbert Jean-Francois Hibbert is an experienced emergency medical MD for over twenty years, having been the Director of Emergency Medicine at Catskill Regional Medical Center (CRMC) for over nine years. Jean-Francois is originally from Montreal, Canada, having attended school there until the age of seventeen when his family moved to Massachusetts. Jean-Francois was a seasoned athlete, having played varsity tennis for his High School. He attended Brown University where he continued his athletic endeavors by playing for the University’s varsity tennis team. At the end of his undergraduate studies, Jean-Francois graduated with a BA in Biology, and followed his graduation by working in a local hospital’s emergency department. Upon discovering his aptitude for sciences and his interest in medicine, Jean-Francois applied to medical school and was accepted into University of Massachusetts School of Medicine, where he decided to attend. He graduated with his MD degree in four years. Jean-Francois’ career began in Bridgeport, CT at Bridgeport Hospital, where he was an intern in general surgery. He went on to complete his residency at Yale/New Haven Hospital, and, afterward, began his career as an emergency medicine physician in New York. He has since been an attending physician at CRMC in New York since 1990, and was awarded his first directorship, being promoted to Assistant Director of the Emergency Medicine Department in 1994. He has been the acting Director of the Emergency Medicine Department since 2002. Jean-Francois is an active medical volunteer, having provided medical control oversight for two volunteer ambulance services. He is also a frequent lecturer for continuing medical education for Allied Health Professionals, Nurses and Physicians. Additionally, Jean-Francois is deeply committed to his participation with Archangel Airborne, a non-profit NGO that provides medical expertise, medical supplies, evacuation assistance services, and additional medical services to disaster sites. Notably, Archangel Airborne has provided response services for the Haitian Earthquake (6 missions since January 2010), and Hurricane Sandy in New York and New Jersey (4 missions since November 2012).
