Problem Statement Design and build a control system that can be implemented into an existing (draw) bridge system that will… • Assure quicker travel by boats and barges, while being cost effective. • The bridge will sense presence of automobiles and boats to assure safety. • This bridge will not need human aid to operate.
Solution Statement 3D model that will… • Be set in the ideal location of small to midsize port towns • Sensors to detect and control traffic of both, boats and automobiles • Sensors to detect the size of boats and automobiles • Software will be able to be adjusted according to need of the consumer to choose the priority of automobiles versus boats based on peak traffic hours & patterns to enable the bridge to open • The software will be receiving data from the traffic sensors and boat sensors to open the bridge at the correct time to ensure safety • The bridge will be under a regular maintenance schedule
