  2. What is LEA? LEA is where in a class discussion the teacher writes down the students ideas in their own language so that the students will better be able to read and understand the material.

  3. Steps of LEA • 1- have whiteboard or language chart • 2- have materials ready to write students thoughts, also have chart titled • 3- during student’s discussion, focus on how information is put on chart, minimize paraphrasing

  4. Cont… • 4-after chart is completed have students read it over • 5- after additional instruction on topic have students reread and revise based on new information learned • 6-keep charts on display during unit. Reread at beginning of next class for a summarized review

  5. Different Tempos • Largo- • Moderato- • Presto- • Vivace- • Andante- • Get class to define terms

  6. Lesson • Present a lesson about the topics you have talked about with the students • Have class modify the board keeping the new information in mind • Have students reread board for review

  7. Final Board • Largo- slow and solemn tempo • Moderato-moderate, restrained tempo • Presto- very quickly • Vivace- lively and brisk, very fast tempo • Andante-moderately slow, between Largo and moderato
