  8. F.I.E.R.C.E. DB Attitude As coaches we want to instill a mindset about what it means to be a DB. This is the mental attitude I try to instill before we even step on the field. • ALWAYS COMPETE: You may not be the biggest, fastest or strongest guy • on the field but you are going to show everyone that you will not be pushed • around and no matter what happens I am going to give my A game every • play. • Hold a Grudge: If a receiver catches a ball on you TAKE IT PERSONAL! • be a little pissed and make him pay for it, whether it’s a run or pass! • MY BALL: When the ball is in the air, it now becomes MY BALL! Go get it! • Field Presence: I want receivers to be thinking about Newberg DB’s and where • they might be coming from instead of thinking about their jobs. • Never Quit on a Play: Always pursue even if ball is not passed to my receiver. If • The ball is caught don’t quit, tray and make something happen. • On field Attitude: Have an attitude when in between the lines. Be it and play • like it. W.O. Killas!
