Legislature Common features • All have 2 houses except one and they only meet for part of the year • House of Representatives -2 per district (county) • Senate -1 per county • Term of office -2 years • Qualifications: must be 18+, a qualified elector, a US citizen, a resident of the state for 1+ years.

Executive • All offices are elected in most states. • However some states do allow the governor several appointments • Term: 4 years –elected on the off Presidential years • Qualifications – • 30 years for Governor/Lt. Governor • 25 years for all other positions • US citizens • Resident of Idaho for 2+
