MISSION: To support the effort of Rotary International in the fulfillment of the object of Rotary to achieve World Understanding and Peace, through local, national, international humanitarian, educational and cultural programs (Arch Klumpf: “ For the purpose of doing good in the world.”)
THE $ GIVEN BY ROTARIANS GO TO: • A.P.F.—70-85 MILLION A YEAR • PERMANENT FUND---9-10 MILLION A YEAR • POLIO FUND—80 MILLION A YEAR • A.P.F.—$40 M TO HUMANITARIAN PROGRAMS, $25 M TO EDUCATIONAL, $30 M TO POLIO PROGRAM • PERMANENT FUND--$5 M TO A.P.F.
QUESTIONS • 1. WHAT IS THE GOAL? • 2. HOW TO GET THE CLUBS BEHIND THE GOAL? • 3. HOW TO PROMOTE GIVING AND HOW TO INCREASE THE GIVING. • 4. HOW DO OTHER CLUBS DO THIS? • 5. HOW TO RECOGNIZE THE GIVERS • 6. HOW TO CHOSE DIFFERENT WAYS TO GIVE • 7. HOW TO OVERCOME RESISTANCE • 8. HOW TO PROMOTE THE FOUNDATION
SUGGESTIONS & STRATEGIES • 1. MAKE CLUBS AWARE TO GIVE • 2. NAMES IN A HAT FOR CREDIT • 3. PAY THE BILLS QUARTERLY(25-250) • 4. EDUCATE WHAT THE FOUNDATION DOES • 5. TRIVIAL PURSUIT DURING FOUNDATION MONTH (NOVEMBER) • 6. USE CREDITS AFTER THE FIRST $100 DONATION • 7. ASK BIRTHDAY MEMBERS TO DONATE THEIR $ TO THE A.P.F. • 8. GIVE STICKERS • 9. SET GOALS • 10. ASK EACH ROTARIAN PERSONALLY
THE PROCESS OF GIVING IN OUR CLUB • 1. The Foundation chair personally gives pledge cards to all members (4-6 prior to each club meeting) who are not sustaining members or Paul Harris Fellows • 2. The signed pledge cards are given to the club treasurer so they can add $25 to your quarterly bill. (Foundation chair crosses name off list) • 3. The club treasurer gives the check, (# of members x 25) to the Foundation Chair who submits it to RI via the appropriate form, so the members can be credited for their Paul Harris Fellowship.
