ICD – Mission and Vision The vision of ICD is to be a major player in the development & promotion of the private sector as a vehicle for economic and social growth & prosperity in Islamic countries. The mission of ICD is to complement the role played by IDB through Providing Islamic financial services and products Promoting competition and entrepreneurship in member countries Advising Governments and businesses Encouraging cross border investments ICD is the Private Sector arm of IDB, a multilateral development finance institution. ICD was established in 1999 with an Authorised capital of USD 2bn. ICD is 50% owned by IDB, 20% by public financial institutions and 30% by its member countries.

  9. Leasing Market in Azerbaijan Leasing operations started in Azerbaijan from 1999. Leasing activities does not require any licensing from Central Bank of Azerbaijan. However, Leasing is regulated by Tax and Civil Code in Azerbaijan. Currently, there are about 24 leasing companies officially registered in Azerbaijan and includes a leasing company established by Government to stimulate the agriculture sector. Leasing operations is free of VAT and agricultural equipments does not attract import VAT. Demand for leasing in Azerbaijan is approximately USD 700 - 800 Mio (current exposure at the end of 2011 is around USD 150 Mio and grew at a CAGR of 72% during 2003 - 2011) – a very huge potential.
  10. Ansar Leasing, Baku Established by ICD with a Paid up Capital of USD 6.2 Mio, commenced its operations from the last quarter of 2009. The Key Performance Indicators are presented as under: The major concentration of Ansar’s lending is in the following sectors: - Construction Equipments - Transportation - Real Estate - Industrial Equipments Ansar offers leasing under the following terms: - Financial leasing, - Buy back leasing, - Vendor leasing.

Leasing Market in Uzbekistan Leasing operations has been in existence for more than 15 years (since 1996) in Uzbekistan and specialized leasing companies serves to over 60% of the leasing activities market. About 68.1% of the lease financing market is occupied by the leasing companies with banks sharing the balance portion. Total portfolio of the leasing market is around USD 716 Mio as of 1H2011. Share of lease financing has reached 3.2% level among other capital financing and investment products and lease financing has grown up to 3.7% as of 1H2011. Currently, there are about 21 leasing companies registered in Uzbekistan and includes 4 leasing companies which has direct and/or indirect relation with the Government participation in their capital. Agricultural sector is most active sectors with a market share of around 28.5% as of 1H2011. Manufacturing companies, transportation companies, construction and property sector also widely utilizes leasing facilities.
  14. TAIBA Leasing, Tashkent Established in 2010 as a subsidiary of ICD with its 100% ownership (Paid up Capital of USD 5 Mio). The Key Performance Indicators are presented as under: Currently, Taiba’s major lending sectors include : - Pharmaceuticals - Textile - Manufacturing - Real Estate Currently, Operations concentrated mainly in Tashkent and Tashkent region with plans to sign agency agreements with representatives/agents in Samarkand, Bukhara, Ferghana, Navoi regions, to widen Taiba’s network, increasing the reach to the entrepreneurs.

Most of the leasing programs* are largely targeted at customers who intend to buy vehicles, mainly passenger cars, construction and industrial equipment's, transport vehicles, real estates and agricultural machineries amongst others. Range of leasing schemes to be offered includes: - Straight line (equated) instalment program – equal instalments throughout the lease period. - Balloon instalment program – equal instalments throughout the lease period except the last instalment,  which is a balloon payment assumed to be the residual value of the car. The customer pays lower instalments for all except last month, defers the payment of large amount towards the end of the lease period. - Variable instalment program – The lease period is divided into two or three slabs and the instalments increase with the expiry of each slab. * The programs offered for lease period generally ranges from 12 to 72 months.
