Services Parts Ordering Tool Introduction What is Spot? • Seamless portal and interface capability • Maintenance technicians can order parts/perform critical job functions within the weapon system IETM Purpose: Extend DLA services to the technicians by providing: • Electronic tech manual automated parts ordering • Support capabilities using innovative portal technology, knowledge management, e-Commerce
Services Parts Ordering Tool Background • DLA Logistics R&D initiative • Intent: Demonstrate added value to the military and DLA by adding a parts ordering capability directly to service IETMs • DLA plans to seed each Service with a SPOT capability • Leave-In-Place system enabling Service to expand, deploy and operate after fully operational at site
