Interoperability Showcase • Demonstration of EHR interoperability across a Regional Health Information Organization (RHIO) environment including acute care enterprises, primary care, group practice, diagnostic centers and a patient portal. • Clinical scenarios will guide the attendee through the RHIO and related care settings in the normal course of care • Theater area for related presentations IHE Education Workshop

Rules for participation • Complete and submit Interoperability Showcase and Connectathon applications with fees to HIMSS & RSNA by September 15, 2005 • Participate in October 6-7th workshop • Take direction from the IHE Technical Project Management and Showcase Management teams as necessary in the testing and exhibition process • Successfully demonstrate interoperability with designated partners at Connectathon * • * separate Connectathon fees required IHE Education Workshop

Rules for participation • Co-branded partner arrangements between complimentary vendors must make sure end-to-end interoperability is achieved • One Demonstration applicant • One Connectathon applicant • Tested and perform as one entity • Send adequate technical representation to Connectathon and Interoperability Showcase at HIMSS 2006 IHE Education Workshop

IHE 2004 Connectathon Cardiology Integration Profiles • Almost 100 software engineers from 14 cardiology vendors • 28 products interactively tested • Over 1200 cardiology tests independently verified • These tests are impossible to perform at your hospital • This testing environment is impossible to simulate in your vendor lab • These problems are even harder to debug during an onsite customer crisis IHE Education Workshop

PDI Testing Process • Participants contribute media content • RSNA creates reference disk for testing of Media Importers • Media Creator participants exchange sample media with Media Importers • Debugging and validation of Media Creators and Media Importers • For ‘05 will include debugging of DICOM objects • No face-to-face Connectathon required IHE Education Workshop

  40. 2005 PDI Demo Timeline • July 25: Application/contracts due • August 30: MESA testing tool and test media provided to participants • September 7: Teleconference with participants • October 3: Media Creator actors required to submit sample media for validation • October 3-17: Validation and debugging of Media Creators • October 18: Sample media from Creators distributed to Media Importer actors • November 1: Proof of success in importing and displaying sample media due from Media Importer actors • Nov. 27 - Dec. 2, 2005: PDI Demonstration at RSNA 90th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting IHE Education Workshop

PDI Demo Participation • Application included on handout CD • Participation Fee: $2000 • Call for Images also included on CD • August 1: Contact Steve Moore to indicate intention to supply data • August 31: Final date for submission of sample objects • September 15: First sample dataset produced by MIR for test distribution IHE Education Workshop

Initial Plans for RSNA 2006 • Distributed demonstration featuring XDS-I • May include other inter-enterprise profiles • Modeled on HIMSS 2006 Demonstration • Centralized demonstration/education area • Participation by companies in their booths • Some way of engaging all registrants, incentive for participation • NOTE: January 2006 will be the only opportunity to test XDS-I and qualify for this demonstration • Further details will be published by July 15 IHE Education Workshop
