Provisions in APPR Act • APPR Act was initiated after the 73rd Amendment. • According this Act State Election Commission was Constituted. • State Finance Commission has completed three consecutive terms and the 4th is due. • Three Terms of Elected Representatives was completed successfully and awaiting for the 4th cycle of Elections. • 33.3% reservation was provided to women in Local Bodies according to the Sec. 15 (d) of APPR Act. • 50% reservation is going to be provided from 4th cycle elections onwards in PRIs.
Statistics of Elected Women Representatives • Three Consecutive Elections were held in the years 1996, 2001 and 2006.

TNA at ETC, Samalkot • Orientation Workshop on Gender and Governance for Designing of Assessment Tool held on 11th & 12th of May' 2011 at NIRD. • In this workshop we have been asked for conduct of TNA workshop for Elected women representatives of Project area districts. • Accordingly TNA workshop was conducted at ETC, Samalkota on 21.5.2011 for Elected Women representatives of Project area districts i.e. Srikakulam & Vizianagaram.
