Faith at Work Does not Rely on Riches for Security (5:1-6) • Futility of riches to secure and save, 5:1 • Desire to be rich destroys, 1 Tim 6:9-10 (Prov 30:7-9) • The nature of riches: • Corruptible and corrupting, Jas 5:2-3 • Do not last; Hoarding is futile, Jas 5:5; Eccl 5:13-15; Lk 12:15, 17-20
