  2. How do jumbo jets fly? A jet flies by sucking air into its’ engines. It mixes the air with fuel and pushes it out. The engines create thrust moving the plane forward.

  3. Lift, thrust, gravity, drag These are the four forces of flight

  4. The shape of the wing creates lift. The air moves faster over the wing than under it, creating low pressure and lift Gravity tries to pull a plane down Wings

  5. Flying Jumbo jets can fly about 9,072 miles without stopping for fuel. They have four huge jet engines that propel it along at up to 580 miles per hour!

  6. Interesting Facts A jumbo jet weighs about 400 tons! A jumbo jet can carry about 500 people! The top of a jumbo jet’s tailfin is 63 feet off the ground!

  7. Take off! When a big plane is ready to leave, it is pushed away from the gate by a tug. A tug is a special truck that hooks onto the front wheel to push it. At a busy airport, airplanes may be flying in and out every minute!
