Pump Off Controller • Oil & Gas Extraction Customers • Motor and Drive Efficiency • Few opportunities for efficiency initially found with these customers • Evaluated operations and equipment, utilized customer’s expertise • Pump off controllers are used by oil producers on rod pumps to remove oil from the well in fewer cycles
Pump Off Controller • Nine wells retrofitted with pump off controllers • Annual energy savings: 400,650 kWh • Annual peak demand reduction: 45.9 kW • Xcel Energy rebate: $10,035 • Annual energy cost savings: $26,300 • Targeting 5 large multi-site customers and approximately 40 mid sized customers
Pump Off Controller • Evaluated market potential for project • Third party evaluator M&V savings • Researched and developed deemed savings • Prescriptive program in 2011 DSM Filing • Working with customers to retrofit all existing wells
Low Income Home Energy Services • Comprehensive Evaluation of income qualified customer residences with direct install of energy efficiency measures • 401 homes retrofitted since 2010 • Open program delivered by participating contractors
Low Income Home Energy Services • Homeowner installed: • Attic Insulation • Duct Sealing • Weather stripping • Carbon Monoxide testing included as a safety precaution in each home • In this case dangerous levels were discovered. • Investigation revealed leaking gas and defective water heater venting • Repairs made. Contractor returned to ensure that homeowner was safe and home was at safe CO levels
