  1. Gyimah Labieducation Gyimah Labi attended Achimota College and while still a student of that Institution had already produced some ambitious works for violin and piano. Labi received a B.A. (music and philosophy) from the University of Ghana, Legon, an M.M. (composition and theory) from the University of Illinois at Urbana‑Champaign, and a D.M.A. (composition and theory) from the University of Cincinnati.

  2. He has taught at the Mercy College, New York, and at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He was also a Lecturer in the Department of Music, University of Ghana, Legon until 1997. Career

  3. Labi's output includes five orchestral works, four duos for violin and piano, a string quartet, trio for flute, bass clarinet and piano and a set of pieces for piano solo titled Dialects nos. 1‑4. Musical works

  4. Dr Labi is the author of Elements of Music for Schools and Colleges, which is being published by the Ghana University Press Theoretical works
