  2. Buildings • Building sector alone accounts for 30-40 percent of global energy use • Over 80 percent of the environmentally harmful emissions from buildings are due to energy consumption during the times when the buildings are in use (“Green Construction”)

  3. Green Buildings • Green buildings are designed to reduce the overall impact of the built environment on the natural environment by efficiently using energy, water, and other resources and by reducing waste, pollution, and environmental degradation
