Although most of the focus is on rivers and streams, members also conduct research in lakes, reservoirs, riparian areas,wetlands, bogs, fens, and estuaries. ISI 2010 = 2.974 The SFS Annual Meeting, usually held in the USA or Canada, is typically attended by >800 people, including many students. With an open and friendly environment, the meeting includes communications, special sessions, workshops and a taxonomy fair.
