  13. Communication Essential that outcomes and ideas are shared and developed We recognise the value of communication: between communities; between organisations; and between communities and organisations. Does not replace (or replicate) existing face-to-face e.g. Neighbourhood Coordination Capacity building Communication Collaboration Communities and agencies Creativity Contribution Cotswold ConversationLocal voices, local choices

  14. Collaboration We will create opportunities for communities and organisations to work together We will develop more opportunities for sharing knowledge and experience Capacity building Communication Collaboration Communities and agencies Creativity Contribution Cotswold ConversationLocal voices, local choices

  15. Creativity We will develop new approaches to old problems; we can no longer afford simply to push public money at problems We will identify ways to work with new challenges and opportunities, e.g. Reducing public sector budgets neighbourhood planning Capacity building Communication Collaboration Communities and agencies Creativity Contribution Cotswold ConversationLocal voices, local choices

  20. Future of the SCS No obligation to have Sustainable Community Strategy BUT… value of expression of intent around social, economic and environmental issues to provide a context for the Local Development Framework in planning sustainable communities. In context of Localism, it needs to have a much stronger community dimension than SCS of old e.g. Parish Plans Rather than consult once and write in stone, more value in agreeing an approach which recognises the diversity of actors and actions which will contribute

  21. Actions - without collaboration Limited scope for delivery to evolve Things communities can do Project delivery Project delivery Things where we can work together Things agencies have to do Project delivery Project delivery

  22. Actions • added value from collaboration • Delivery evolves to meet changing needs Short term Medium term Long term Value added to ‘Things communities can do’ Advice, Support Capacity building Relationship building Co-delivery Better use of public money Value added to ‘Things where we can work together’ Joint projects Community input, better intelligence Value added to ‘Things agencies have to do’ Better targeting, efficiency
