Outline • 1. Cell type. • 2. Nutrition function of the rat. • 3. Interaction function of the rat. • 4. Reproduction function of the rat. • 5. Nutrition function of the palm tree. • 6. Interaction function of the palm tree. • 7. Reproduction function of the palm tree. • 8. Conclusion.
Cell type • The rat has animal eukaryotic cells. • The palm tree has plant eukaryotic cells.
Nutrition function of the rat • Obtaining nutrients: They obtain nutrients with a mouth with teeth and tongue. They have a complex digestive tract. • Breathing: They take oxygen from the air by the lungs. • Circulation and excretion: They have a closed circulatory system with a heart. They use the kidneys and the anus.
Interaction function of the rat • Interaction with the environment: The rat goes to the rubbish in search of food. • Perception of information: They perceive the information by the eyes, ears, mouth, nose and skin. • Processing and coordination: When they perceive information, it´s carried on through the nerves to the brain. • Execution of responses: The information is carried on to the muscles to produce reactions.
Reproduction function of the rat • The rats have a sexual reproduction. • The sperm enters in the ovule.
Nutrition of the palm tree • Obtaining nutrients: They perform the photosynthesis. • Respiration: They absorb oxygen through the stomata to get energy by the mitochondria • Substance distribution: They distribute the phloem sap throughout the plant. • Eliminating waste matter: They keep the waste substances in old leaves.
Interaction function of the palm tree • They move towards the sun to obtain solar energy. They move very slowly. This is a nastic movement called photonasty. • It also perform tropism. For example, the roots grow towards the earth using geotropism
Reproduction function of the palm tree • They have asexual reproduction. • They reproduce through pollen.
Conclusion • Rats and palm trees are living things and they perform the three vital functions. • It is more evident when animals are performing the 3 vital functions than when plants are.
