Non Traditional Education Support and Resources Pre Field Support Educating Your Family Overseas Day Educational Advice for Families Moving Abroad The programme will help parents to answer the following questions: • What educational options are likely to be available? • What are the pros and cons of these options? • How can we develop a workable educational plan for our family? • How do we choose a homeschooling curriculum? • How do we work out our children’s learning styles? • How do we teach specific skills such as reading and writing? • How can we prepare our children for the transitions they will make in leaving this culture and entering a new one?

Non Traditional Education Support and Resources Pre Field Support • Preparing Families for Life Overseas  • A day workshop for families who are preparing to live abroadFor the children: Primary school-aged children will participate in a parallel pre-field orientation programme run by Janet Chapman and Stephen and Yolanda Jerrard, where they will be able to explore their own feelings about the move and be given strategies to cope. Dates:20 April 2013 Venue: Redcliffe College Northern Ireland (not yet confirmed)
