What is Convergence? • Convergence merges voice, video and data on a single network. • Convergence is the newest development in communications technology. • Companies need complete solutions and qualified personnel to sell and support convergence products. • Selling and supporting convergence technologies requires a new set of skills.
What is Certificate Program? • CCNT (Certified in Convergent Network Technologies) targets service providers and telecom sales and support personnel. • The CCNT certificate program validates that an individual has the core knowledge required to sell and support convergence services. • CCNT is a broad, competency-based, introduction of baseline inter-disciplinary terms, concepts and skills of convergence technologies. • CCNT is available as a competency-based Web-based offering with on-line testing and administrative reporting. • Visit www.ComputerPREP.com/CCNT.
CCNT Benefits • Telcos and Service Providers have standardized criteria to screen capable channel partners, hiring and/or advancement within their organization. • Channel Partners (e.g. agents, VARs, integrators) can differentiate themselves in the marketplace and distinguish themselves to customers and suppliers in their ability to support convergence solutions. • Individuals can validate their competency across a broad range of communications topics including convergence, broadband and voice over IP.
Who Sponsors the CCNT Certificate? • TIA (Telecommunications Industry Association) sponsors and issues the CCNT credential certificate. • TIA has issued over 5,000 CCNT certificates. • TIA is the leading telecommunications industry trade association. Visit www.TIAonline.org for more information. • TIA develops industry standards and credentialing programs. • ProsoftTraining develops certification exams and distributes training and certification courseware. • ProsoftTraining developed the CCNT certificate program and is the exclusive distributor of the Official CCNT curriculum.
CCNT Program Competencies • The CCNT certificate program is a broad, knowledge-based introduction to core terms, concepts and skills in convergence technologies. To obtain this industry-valued credential, an individual must pass six competency tests in the following disciplines: • Basic Telecommunications • Basic Data Communications • Computer-Telephone Integration (CTI) Essentials • Local Area Networks (LANs) • Broadband Technologies • Voice over IP (VoIP) Essentials
CCNT Exam • The CCNT exam consists of six separate online tests. • The six online tests are administered by ProsoftTraining at www.TelecomPREP.com. • The CCNT six-test exam fee is $100 and consists of approximately 450 questions. • The test assessor allows each candidate up to three attempts to pass each test, section by section. • A candidate can “test-out” of sections during the pre-study (first attempt) assessment. • Each test is self-paced and the candidate can exit the test at any time and return to the exact exit point.
Official CCNT Courseware • The CCNT certificate program was created and optimized for competency-based training delivered in a Web environment. • A pre-study assessment prescription gives the student a training guide that highlights areas for additional study. • Official CCNT preparatory courseware was being developed by ProsoftTraining. • Official CTP preparatory courseware can be purchased by through the TIA CTP Web site at www.CTPcertified.com.
Official CCNT Courseware • Competency-based training effectively combines pre-study assessment testing, study materials and post-study assessment testing. • The sections in each module are presented in an interactive, self-study format. • Progress checks, or “Section Reviews,” are placed strategically throughout the sections to help learners assess their understanding of learning and testing objectives, and to review key concepts. • The six required modules for CCNT training are delivered in several formats: • Web-based training (WBT) • Computer-based training (CBT) • Instructor-led training (ILT)
