  1. The 12 Olympians of Mt. Olympus Greek Gods and Goddesses

  2. Mt. Olympus Olympus was regarded as the home of the Twelve Olympian Gods. It is the setting of many Greek mythical stories. Mt. Olympus is located far above the heavens. “Olympus was not shaken by winds nor ever wet with rain, nor did snow fall upon it, but the air is outspread clear and cloudless, and over it hovered a radiant whiteness.”

  3. Zeus – King of the gods and ruler of Mt. Olympus; god of the sky and thunder.

  4. Hera – Queen of the gods; goddess of marriage and family

  5. Poseidon – God of the seas, earth quakes and horses.

  6. Dionysus – God of celebrations

  7. Apollo – God of the sun (light), knowledge, music, archery, and poetry.

  8. Artemis – Goddess of the hunt, childbirth, archery, and all animals.

  9. Hermes – Messenger of the gods; god of commerce and thieves.

  10. Athena – Goddess of wisdom and war

  11. Ares – God of war, violence, and bloodshed

  12. Aphrodite – Goddess of love and beauty

  13. Hephaestus – Master blacksmith to the gods; god of fire

  14. Demeter – Goddess of nature and the seasons.

  15. Persephone – Greek goddess of innocence and queen of the underworld

  16. Hades - King of the underworld, the god of death and the dead.

  17. Cyclops - The Cyclopes were gigantic one eyed monsters. There are only three: Arges (thunderbolt), Steropes (lightning), and Brontes (thunder).

  18. Oracle -The answer given by a god to a question asked by a human. This is how gods communicated to humans and gave them advice.
