  2. D&G • Population: 148,190 • Geography: 2,400 square miles from Langholm in East to Drummore in West • Mixture of urban and rural.

  3. Specialist Forensic Service(SFS) • Team: 0.5 Consultant Psychiatrist • 0.5Consultant Forensic and Clinical Psychologist • 1 Counselling Psychologist • 0.4 CBT Therapist,(12months) • 1 Snr Forensic Nurse Practitioner • Integrated model

  4. D&G MAPPA NUMBERS,(31/03/2013) • Level One: 105 • Level Two: 15 • Level Three: 1 • Restricted Patients: 6 MH, 1 LD, all level One, (3 MH cases out of area in-patients).

  5. MAPPA&HEALTH • Single point of Contact, office of Mental Health Directorate General Manager who leads on process • Identification of Mental Health, Learning Disability or Psychology involvement to determine who attends. • If not known invites forwarded to Acute Care staff, geographical area will indicate General Manager responsible for identification of staff to attend and dissemination of information, with Mappa agreement ,within general health care services including GP’S . • SFS Consultant Psychiatrist,SOG member ,Mental Health Snr Nurse, MOG member.

  6. MAPPA AND D&G NHS • Level Three: Attended by representative from SFS, most likely Consultant Psychiatrist or Consultant Forensic /Clinical Psychologist. • Level Two: Aim that all first meetings attended and decision made if need for ongoing health attendance either mental health/general health staff. • Level One: Occasional health attendance requested, related to need for advice and guidance.

  7. MAPPA&VIOLENT OFFENDERS(V.O) • Violent Offenders, 2 managed currently(1 health referral) • MAPPA Operational Group,(MOG)FEB 2013, inclusion of those subject to Potentially Dangerous Offender,(PDO’S), process. • Criteria established for V.O inclusion. • MAPPA strategic oversight group(SOG(all MAPPA Level 2/3 will have LSCMi section 9 completed , SFS, staff also LSCMi trained.

  8. MAPPA FEEDBACK • Previous problems with health attendance . • Recent feedback from MAPPA coordinator is attendance has improved.
