  2. Designed and set by theDelaware-Hudson Land Surveyors Associationin conjunction with theNew York State Association of Professional Land Surveyors

In December of 2001, the Board of Directors of the New York State Association of Land Surveyors (NYSAPLS) requested that we, the Delaware-Hudson Land Surveyors Association (DHLSA), an affiliate regional of NYSAPLS, undertake the task of setting a commemorative monument denoting the center of population for the State of New York, based upon the Census of 2000. • In January 2002, the DHLSA accepted this project and created a committee to run the project. The committee consisted of the following DHLSA members: • Paul Sevik, Jr. – Chair • John Bezuyen, L.S. • Joshua Bush, L.S. • Anthony Celentano • Margaret Hillriegel, L.S. • Michael Lacey, L.S. • John Loch, L.S., P.E. • Norman Peachey, L.S. • William Youngblood, Jr., L.S.

  10. On Saturday, July 13, 2002, the monument was set by members of the committee.
