  2. Gas exchange • Gas exchange happens in the alveoli part of the lung, when oxygen goes into the alveoli and touches the capillaries carrying blood and spreads into the blood cells and carbon dioxide is spread into the alveoli and then breathed out back into the air.

  3. Inhalation • Inhalation is when a person inhales oxygen and carbon dioxide.

  4. Exhalation • Exhalation is when gas exchange happens and a person exhales carbon dioxide.
