Competence Centre for Sustainable Energy – progress to date • New Invest Northern Ireland (INI) Funding Programme for Industry Driven Research • Expression of Interest submitted 22 April 2008 on behalf of the QUESTOR Members plus affiliated companies • £21,000 funding awarded January 2010 to complete the Project Definition Stage (Business Plan) • Research Partners • The Institute for a Sustainable World (ISW) at QUB • AFBI . • But not a “closed shop” • £5M funding over 5 years • Matched funding over 5 years (Industrial contribution, academic contribution, leveraged funding) • Will fund research projects only (but must include plans for technology transfer/commercialisation)
