Schools Out! • Schools in HRM will be closed for two weeks February 2011 – Feb. 14 to Feb.25 inclusive. • Spring Break usually in March is cancelled. • Classes begin early Sept. 1 and end later June 30th. • Christmas break will be shortened and a PD day dropped. • Happens each time there is a Winter Games • Citadel High and Sackville High are being used. • Outside HRM will share the same Sept.1-June 30 calendar; but have a traditional March Break; longer Christmas break to compensate for the longer school year. • Outside HRM schools will remain open as usual through Feb. 2011.
Volunteers • Looking for 1,000 students to volunteer • Must be age 14 and older to volunteer • Youth volunteers between 14 and 18 require a parent or guardian’s consent to volunteer. • Apply on line www.canadagames2011.ca/volunteer .
