AutoFiled Folder Issues Outlook Express 6, Eudora, and Pegasus have problems accessing AutoFiled folders Workaround: Use GopherMail Thunderbird: be sure to enable Allow server to override these namespaces Outlook and OS X Mail: be sure the IMAP root setting is left blank
AutoFiled Folder Issues (cont.) New managers page option added to allow for symbolic link creation Pro: allows user to see AutoFiled folders Cons: Service interruption on AutoFiled server (while rare) would result in general IMAP interruption When used with clients which DO honor namespaces, AutoFiled folders would be displayed twice
UMCal Archiving • Expiring calendar data monthly starting as early as 2/1 • Keeping 18 months • Older data kept at least 7 years • Made available on request (ICAL format) • Clients such as Mozilla Sunbird, Outlook, and Mac ICAL can import these files • Making available via web is not practical • Loading these files into the UMCal client is NOT supported • Necessary for performance reasons
Self-serve password reset • Available for student accounts only • May eventually be allowed for other account types • Pilot starting mid-January • Production rollout is anticipated by the 2nd week of the semester
WebMail 3/Pro Phase-out • WebMail 3.0 and WebMail Pro will be going away July 1, 2008 • Usage is dropping • Working with Usability and Disability Services to determine if/what changes are needed to Gophermail
