  4. elaborate (verb) • To add details, as to an account or idea; clarify the meaning of. Sentence: Dr. Banks elaborated on the main ideas in her dissertation.

  5. excerpt (noun) • A short extract from a film, broadcast, or piece of music or writing. Sentence: Mrs. Stevens read an excerpt from “To Kill a Mockingbird” to convey the compassion of Atticus Finch.
